What Is Fool Night About?

For those unfamiliar with Fool Night, the series is based on Kasumi Yasuda’s manga, published in Shogakukan’s Big Comic Superior. The story takes place in a dark future where most of Earth’s plants have disappeared, causing a serious oxygen shortage that threatens humanity’s survival.

To deal with this problem, humans develop Transfloration, a process that turns people nearing death into plants called Spiriflora. These plants produce oxygen, but the people who undergo the process give up their human lives.

The story follows Toshiro Kamiya, a young man who undergoes the procedure and discovers that he can hear the voices of Spiriflora. He is later hired by Transflora Medical to investigate a series of mysterious murders involving these transformed people.
