Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Ends Record-Breaking Run
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle – Akaza Sairai, the first film in the Infinity Castle trilogy, has officially ended its theatrical run in Japan after an incredible 266-day run, showing just how strong the franchise still is.
The film delivered massive numbers:
Sold 27.45 million tickets in Japan
Earned 40.2 billion yen (~$252.5 million)
Reached 117.9 billion yen (~$740.5 million) worldwide
At one point, it even surpassed Spirited Away in the Japanese box office rankings, making it one of the biggest anime films ever.
What makes this even more impressive is that the film maintained consistent performance for months, not just during its opening weeks. It also gained strong international traction, especially in North America where it re-released in theaters.
The film’s quality was also recognized with major awards:
Japan Academy Film Prize (Best Animated Film)
Tokyo Anime Award Festival (Animation of the Year)
Even after ending its main run, it continues to screen in select theaters, showing the lasting demand.
One Piece Updates (Remake, Anime & Live-Action Expansion)
All major updates for One Piece this week show how the franchise is expanding in multiple directions at once.
The One Piece (WIT Studio Remake)
Netflix released a preview showcasing early concept art and character designs, giving fans a first look at the remake’s visual direction.
This remake is being designed to fix one of the biggest complaints about the original anime — slow pacing. According to production comments, the new version will:
Follow the manga more closely
Remove unnecessary padding
Deliver tighter storytelling
At the same time, the team confirmed they want to respect Toei Animation’s original work, meaning it won’t feel like a complete replacement but rather an upgraded experience.
Anime Schedule Change (Major Industry Shift)
Toei Animation confirmed a big change:
From 2026, One Piece will release maximum 26 episodes per year
This is a major shift because the anime has historically aired almost every week since 1999.
The reason behind this change:
Improve animation quality
Improve story pacing
Avoid catching up too closely to the manga
This could result in better consistency and higher production value per episode.
The live-action series continues to expand after the success of Season 1 and Season 2. Season 3 will likely adapt one of the most important arcs in the story, making it a highly anticipated release.
Major Anime Titles Coming to India (Big Platform Growth)
Anime Times announced a major expansion of anime availability on Amazon Prime Video India, which is a big step for Indian anime fans.

Dr. Stone (Final Season – Science Future)
Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 4
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4
Classroom of the Elite Year 2
Dorohedoro Season 2
Along with these, several additional titles like Mao, Snowball Earth, and The Drops of God are also included.
This move shows that streaming platforms are increasing focus on the Indian market, which could lead to faster releases and more localized content in the future.
Doraemon Film Continues Strong Box Office Performance
The latest Doraemon: New Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil continues to dominate the Japanese box office even weeks after release.

MAPPA x Honkai: Star Rail – Mysterious Anime Project
MAPPA and HoYoverse revealed a concept trailer titled:
