Double Shockwave: Two Explosive Anime Announcements Fans Can’t Ignore

The first big news is about Bleach. Yes, Bleach is officially getting another anime part covering the final stage of the Thousand-Year Blood War arc. This comeback is happening after nearly 10 years of waiting. You heard that right — the original Bleach anime ended back in 2012, and now the franchise is back once again to dominate anime viewership.

The second major news is related to one of the best futuristic gaming franchises ever created — Cyberpunk. The anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is officially getting another season. However, there is also a sad update connected to it. One of the most beloved characters from the previous season, David Martinez, will not be returning because of the events that happened in Season 1. Instead, the new season will focus on a completely different story with new characters.

01. Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War

This news was officially revealed during the Bleach panel at Anime Expo. The franchise confirmed that the fourth and final part of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War will release in 2026.

Along with the announcement, they also revealed a brand-new visual for the anime.

As many fans already know, the Thousand-Year Blood War arc was planned as a four-part anime project from the beginning, with breaks between each part. The first three parts released after shorter breaks, but this final part is taking more time compared to the earlier ones.

Because this is the final part of Bleach, fans are expecting Studio Pierrot to deliver something truly special. 02. Good news with a sad part

The second major anime news came from Studio Trigger during Anime Expo. The studio officially confirmed that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is now in production.

The first season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners became one of the best anime of its year. It wasn’t just visually stunning — the anime had everything: incredible animation, emotional storytelling, amazing fight sequences, memorable characters, powerful music, and one of the most heartbreaking endings in recent anime history.

Now the good news is:

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is officially coming to Netflix.

The exact release date hasn’t been announced yet, but fans are already extremely excited about the continuation.

However, there is also a sad part to this announcement.

David Martinez, the main protagonist of the first season, will not be returning. Since his story ended in Season 1, the upcoming anime will introduce a completely new protagonist along with several new characters.

In just 10 episodes, David became one of the most loved anime characters for many fans. So naturally, when the sequel was announced, a lot of viewers hoped he might somehow return. Unfortunately, that won’t be happening.

Still, many fans are excited to see a fresh story set inside the Cyberpunk universe.

Personally, I absolutely loved Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. It’s one of those rare anime-original series that people didn’t just enjoy — they truly fell in love with it. The emotional ending honestly broke my heart, and I know many fans feel the same way.

The new season will also feature a different creative staff team, which could bring a fresh perspective and style to the Cyberpunk world.
