What truly changed everything in this arc was the moment Frieza killed Krillin to prove that Goku couldn’t even protect his best friend—that he was completely helpless. That moment pushed Goku into pure rage, unlocking the legendary Super Saiyan form and changing Dragon Ball forever.

One Piece – Marineford Arc: Luffy Sees Ace Die in Front of Him

Before the Marineford Arc, One Piece was mostly fun, adventurous, and focused on defeating villains rather than killing them. But then came Marineford.

This arc showed Luffy the harsh reality of the world. He realized how far superior many pirates and Marines were compared to him—and how powerless he truly was. He couldn’t even save his own brother, Ace. Because of that moment, Ace had to die.

After Jiraiya’s death, Naruto goes through deep grief. But instead of breaking, he trains harder than ever so he can protect the people he loves. He finally understands that he’s still not strong enough—and that realization is what pushes him toward true maturity.

This arc marks the moment Naruto stops being just a loud, hopeful ninja and starts becoming a true leader.

Bleach – Soul Society Arc: Ichigo Goes to Save Rukia

This arc is the foundation of the entire Bleach universe.

Before the Soul Society Arc, we knew nothing about the Soul Society—its captains, their powers, their specialties, or the leader of the Gotei 13, Yamamoto. Everything changed once Ichigo decided to invade Soul Society to save Rukia.

Hunter x Hunter – Chimera Ants Arc: Gon Decides to Take Revenge

While other arcs focused on world-building and character development, the Chimera Ant Arc was different. Gon, who was always cheerful and forgiving, decides to become stronger—not for growth, but for revenge.

Neferpitou killing Kite completely breaks Gon. Unlike Kurapika’s revenge in the Yorknew City Arc, Gon’s revenge is far darker and more self-destructive.
