Who is the greatest anime protagonist of all time?

Why Did Goku Win?

Honestly, the result doesn’t surprise me very much.

There are only a handful of anime characters who are recognized all around the world, and Goku is undoubtedly one of them. Even people who don’t regularly watch anime have heard the name “Goku” at least once in their lives.

From children who grew up in the 1990s to today’s generation of anime fans, Goku continues to be one of the most beloved characters ever created.

Fans love him for many reasons:

• His cheerful and goofy personality
• His determination to become stronger
• His willingness to protect his family, friends, and even strangers
• His constant drive to overcome impossible challenges

No matter how powerful his opponents become, Goku always finds a way to push beyond his limits.

A Well-Written Character

Another reason for Goku’s popularity is that fans have been able to follow his entire journey.

We’ve seen him grow from a young boy living alone in the mountains to one of the strongest warriors in the universe.

Throughout the Dragon Ball franchise, we’ve watched:

• His rivalries
• His family life
• His victories and failures

The Biggest Surprise

The most surprising result wasn’t Goku winning.

The real surprise was Ichigo Kurosaki finishing in second place.

Many fans expected Naruto or Luffy to take second place, but Ichigo managed to secure 17% of the votes, slightly ahead of both of them.

With the recent success of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, it’s clear that the Bleach fanbase remains incredibly passionate and loyal.

Honestly, seeing Ichigo rank so highly was impressive.

Final Thoughts
