A Long History Behind the Original Manga

This is not only happy news for the manga artist, whose work is getting an anime adaptation, but also for fans of Booty Royale: Never Go Down Without a Fight!, who have also been waiting for the past 14 years to see this manga animated.

Rui Takatō began publishing Hagure Idol: Jigoku-hen in Nihon Bungeisha’s Bessatsu Manga Goraku magazine in 2014. After the magazine ended publication, the series moved to other publications before eventually continuing through the Goraku Web platform.

The manga has also experienced a few changes in its serialization history, including a hiatus in 2022 before resuming in 2024.

Nihon Bungeisha published the manga’s 19th collected volume in April 2026.

For international readers, the series is licensed in English by Seven Seas Entertainment under its Ghost Ship imprint. The publisher releases the manga in two-in-one omnibus editions and categorizes it for mature readers.

Interestingly, the franchise has already received a live-action film adaptation, which premiered in Japan in September 2020. However, the upcoming television anime will bring the story to animation for the first time.

Will Booty Royale Anime Have an Uncensored Version?

One question fans may have is how the anime will handle the manga’s mature content.

The original series contains adult-oriented comedy and themes, making its television adaptation particularly interesting. However, the production announcement has not confirmed the broadcast format, censorship arrangements, or whether different versions of the anime will be released.

It is also too early to determine how closely the animated adaptation will follow the manga’s mature content.

For now, fans will have to wait for further announcements from the production team regarding its broadcast arrangements and content presentation.
