1. My Hero Academia season 7 announced.

Exciting news for My Hero Academia fans! During Jump Festa 24, it was officially announced that season 7 will begin airing on May 4, 2024. But that’s not all—the fourth My Hero Academia anime movie is also set to hit theaters in the summer of 2024.

Season 7 is expected to pick up right where season 6 left off, introducing the USA hero ‘Star and Stripe.’ If the anime follows the manga’s storyline, fans can look forward to her intense confrontation with All for One, which has dramatic consequences following her devastating defeat.

The Star and Stripe arc begins in chapter 329 of the My Hero Academia manga, so fans eager to prepare for the upcoming season should dive into volume 34. Additionally, the season is likely to explore a betrayal within Class 1A and the ongoing Todoroki family conflict, culminating in a heated battle between Dabi and Shoto.

2. Dragon Ball Daima – A New Adventure Awaits

Dragon Ball enthusiasts, get ready! A brand-new anime series titled Dragon Ball DAIMA is set to premiere in fall 2024. Unveiled at the DRAGON BALL Games Battle Hour 2024 in Los Angeles, this new series brings fresh excitement to the beloved franchise with de-aged versions of iconic characters like Goku, Vegeta, and Bulma.

The first trailer revealed young Goku in action, showcasing his dynamic movements and epic battles against fearsome monsters. With vibrant visuals and a thrilling storyline, Dragon Ball DAIMA promises to captivate both long-time fans and newcomers as it embarks on an exciting new journey through the Dragon Ball universe.

3. The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 4 Announced

The Rising of The Shield Hero
Fans of The Rising of the Shield Hero have something to look forward to! It was recently announced on a radio program that season 4 of the popular anime is in production. While the exact release date hasn’t been confirmed, Crunchyroll has secured streaming rights for multiple regions, including North and South America, Europe, and more.

Based on the light novels by Aneko Yusagi, the series has been a fan favorite. If previous timelines are followed, we might see the new episodes by the end of 2024 or early 2025. Get ready for more thrilling adventures with Naofumi and his companions in the upcoming season.

4. Monogatari Series Returns with Two New Projects

Great news for Monogatari series fans! Aniplex has announced that the series will return with adaptations of Nisio Isin’s Off Season and Monster Season light novels. Produced by SHAFT Studio, the new anime projects are set to be released in 2024.

Teased with cryptic letters “O” and “M,” the “O” stands for Off Season, and “M” for Monster Season. A trailer and teaser visual have been released, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect.

With Akio Watanabe as the character designer and Shinbo-san supervising scripts, the new chapters promise to bring the beloved characters back with new, surreal adventures.

 5. Oshi no Ko Live-Action Adaptation Officially Announced

 

The hit anime Oshi no Ko is making the leap to live-action! Following its huge success in 2023, both a live-action film and drama series have been announced, set for release in winter 2024. Amazon Prime Video will exclusively stream the drama series worldwide, while the live-action film will debut in Japanese theaters under Toei Animation.

The cast includes Nagisa Saitō as Ruby, Asuka Saitō as Ai, and Kaito Sakurai as Aqua, among others. With Amazon Prime and Toei Animation at the helm, the Oshi no Ko live-action adaptations are set to be a must-watch for fans.

In a major industry shake-up, Ryu Nakayama, director of Chainsaw Man, and Sunghoo Park, director of Jujutsu Kaisen season 1 and the JJK 0 movie, have both left MAPPA to establish their own production studios. 

Nakayama has launched Andraft Co., Ltd., focusing on high-quality works without genre restrictions, while Park’s new studio, E&H Production, aims to challenge original animation and prioritize a healthy working environment.

These moves come amid reports of challenging working conditions at MAPPA, with employees feeling overburdened. The establishment of these new studios by Nakayama and Park signals a significant shift in the anime industry, with these directors aiming to create new opportunities and foster better working environments.
