01. Farewell to a Legend: Saint Seiya’s Nobuo Yamada Passes Away at 61
Sad anime news, that broke the hearts of many anime fans, Music production and artist management agency MOJOST announced this Wednesday that singer Nobuo Yamada, also known as NoB, passed away in August at 1:39 p.m. JST after a long battle with kidney cancer. He was 61 years old at the time of his passing.

His family held a private funeral and asked fans to refrain from visiting their home to offer respects or condolences. Details about a farewell event will be announced later. They also revealed that Nobuo Yamada—the singer of Saint Seiya’s iconic themes—was diagnosed with kidney cancer seven years ago and continued working despite undergoing treatment.
As the former lead singer of the band MAKE-UP, Yamada was the powerful voice behind the legendary opening theme “Pegasus Fantasy” and the emotional ending theme “Blue Forever” for the original Saint Seiya anime. He not only sang but also composed and wrote the lyrics for both songs.
02. Get Ready for More Spirits! Kakuriyo -Bed & Breakfast for Spirits- Season 2 is Coming to India
Over the last few weeks, Crunchyroll and several other anime streaming platforms have been adding more titles to their Indian servers. This Sunday, Crunchyroll announced that it will also be streaming Kakuriyo Yadomeshi Ni, the second season of the television anime, in India.

The second season of this anime is set to premiere in October, and at the same time, Crunchyroll will stream it in India. The first season originally aired in Japan in 2018 as a television anime, and Funimation streamed it with an English dub.
This anime is adapted from a light novel of the same name, bringing its charming story to life for both old fans and new viewers.
03. Crayon Shin-chan’s Latest Adventure Kicks Off with a Bang, Debuting at #4
After Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle: Akaza Sairai, the first film in the Infinity Castle trilogy, secured the #1 spot at the Japanese box office for the fourth weekend in a row.
After four weeks, the movie has surpassed One Piece Film: Red to become the 6th highest-earning film of all time in Japan—a huge milestone for the franchise.
While Demon Slayer dominates the headlines, many fans seem to have forgotten another gem that makes us laugh so hard we end up crying. Yes—I’m talking about Shin-chan, the forever-chaotic bundle of mischief we can’t help but love.

The latest film in the beloved Crayon Shin-chan franchise, “Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: Super Magnificent! Scorching Kasukabe Dancers”, debuted strong in Japan, ranking #4 at the box office during its opening weekend.
The movie sold 363,000 tickets and earned 450,283,700 yen (about US $3.07 million) in just its first three days. Including the Mountain Day holiday on August 11, it sold 516,000 tickets for a total of 633 million yen (around US $4.33 million) in four days.
Released on August 8 in Japan, this is the 32nd 2D animated film in the Crayon Shin-chan series—and the franchise’s first-ever dance entertainment movie. The story takes Shinnosuke and the Kasukabe Defense Force to India (a country where Shin-chan is hugely popular) for a hilarious and heartfelt dance-filled adventure.
Do you think this film has what it takes to surpass Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle: Akaza Sairai at the box office? Let us know in the comments!
04. Calling All Ninja Fans! Nintama Rantarō: Invincible Master of the Dokutake Ninja Film Arrives on Prime Video
Next anime news is coming from one of the best old comedy anime. I think everyone remembers the anime Nintama Rantarō—a hilarious series about three mischievous ninja. Yesterday, Amazon Prime Video added Nintama Rantarō: Invincible Master of the Dokutake Ninja-tai, the first anime movie in the franchise in 13 years.
This movie is available with Japanese audio and English subtitles, making it accessible to international anime fans who want to experience it in its original voice while still following the story.

Released in Japan on December 20, the film performed impressively at the box office, earning a total of US $22,182,456 worldwide.
For those unfamiliar with the title, the movie is based on Kazuhisa Sakaguchi’s 2013 novel of the same name. The story centers on Rantarō’s teacher, Hansuke Doi, who loses a battle against Sonnamon. As a result, Zatto Konnamon becomes the new teacher at the Ninjutsu Academy—leading to plenty of comedic and unexpected moments.
05. The Wait is Over: Nana Creator Announces Return to Finish the Beloved Manga
Happy anime news for Nana fans. Ai Yazawa, the creator of Nana, has confirmed in a recent interview that the story is now in its final stage. Most of the future developments are already decided—though she notes they could change—but she is doing her best so that fans can finally see how it ends.

The Nana manga was first released in 2000 but has been on hiatus since 2009 due to Ai Yazawa’s illness. The anime adaptation, which began airing in 2006, has also been on hold since 2007 because of insufficient source material.
For me, Nana was never just the best romance anime—it was a masterpiece of art and storytelling. Lately, I’ve been thinking about unfinished anime in general, because you never know when or if they’ll get a second season.
06. Tragedy Strikes: A Family Devastated by a ‘One Piece’ Obsession
This next anime news is one of the most disturbing stories in recent anime news, involving a tragic incident connected to the beloved series One Piece. On August 10, 2025, in Indonesia, a man named Julius, aged 33 to 34, was arrested for allegedly killing his wife and two children with a machete.

During the investigation, Julius repeatedly claimed his actions were because of One Piece—the popular Japanese anime and manga about pirates seeking the legendary treasure. He allegedly told police he committed the crime after failing to meet the “living requirements” from One Piece and after being scolded by his wife.
A bizarre video of his confession quickly spread across Indonesian social media, sparking widespread confusion, outrage, and debate over whether the One Piece anime truly influenced the tragedy or if underlying mental health issues were the real cause. Authorities have since sent Julius for a psychiatric evaluation at a hospital to better understand his actions.
