11. MF Ghost Season 3 Reveals Teaser Visual & January 2026 Premiere
The official website for Shuuichi Shigeno’s MF Ghost unveiled the third season’s second teaser visual and confirmed its January 2026 premiere, first announced at the Initial D 30th Anniversary 2days event at Fuji Speedway in Shizuoka.

Set in the 2020s, when self-driving cars dominate Japan, the story follows Kanata Livington, a skilled Japanese driver who returns home after graduating top of his class at a racing school in England. He competes in the high-stakes MFG public-road racing circuit, which has drawn worldwide attention.
The first season aired in October 2023, followed by the second season in October 2024, both streamed on Crunchyroll with English subtitles and an English dub. The MF Ghost manga concluded on February 17, 2025, with the 23rd and final volume released on June 6, 2025.
10. The Strongest Man Starts from Misfortune Light Novel Gets TV Anime
Starts Publishing announced that Fukufuku’s light novel series Fuun kara no Saikyō Otoko (The Strongest Man Starts from Misfortune) will receive a television anime adaptation. Illustrator Zun Nakabayashi, who also draws the manga version, celebrated the announcement with a special illustration.

The manga, available in English on MangaPlaza as The Strongest Man, Born From Misfortune, follows Siegbert, who is reborn after a tragic accident and discovers an unexpectedly high luck stat. What seems like a peaceful new life soon turns into a journey where he must conquer each “chance” of good fortune to fulfill his family’s long-standing legacy.
The novel began on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in November 2020, and the fourth novel volume shipped on March 28, 2025. The manga adaptation, launched in October 2021, will release its eighth compiled volume on September 26, 2025, and the franchise already has over 1.5 million copies in circulation.
09. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle – Akaza Sairai Smashes U.S. Box Office Records
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle – Akaza Sairai, the first film in the Infinity Castle trilogy, has earned US$70.6 million in its opening weekend at the U.S. box office, making it the biggest U.S. anime film opening of all time—both unadjusted and adjusted for inflation.

This breaks the long-standing record held by Pokémon: The First Movie (1999), which earned US$31 million, equivalent to about US$70.2 million when adjusted for the steeper rise in ticket prices.
The film earned US$32.98 million on Friday (including US$11.4 million from Thursday previews), US$21.6 million on Saturday, and US$16 million on Sunday across 3,315 U.S. theaters. By comparison, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train earned US$22.5 million in its 2021 U.S. opening weekend.
In Japan, the film opened on July 18 across 443 screens, a franchise record, and became the fastest film to reach 30 billion yen (about US$203 million), achieving the milestone in 46 days, surpassing Mugen Train’s 59-day record. It has also surpassed Titanic to become the #3 highest-earning film of all time in Japan.
Crunchyroll, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Aniplex are screening the film in over 150 countries and regions, with both Japanese audio (subtitled) and English dub.
08. Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc Moves Up Global Release Dates
The official Kenshi Yonezu YouTube channel debuted an animated music video for “IRIS OUT,” the theme song for Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc.

Sony Pictures Entertainment has acquired worldwide theatrical rights and will release the film in the United States on October 24, earlier than its originally scheduled October 29 date. It will also open in over 80 countries starting September 24, and in the United Kingdom on October 29.
The film premieres in Japan on September 19, with midnight screenings in 12 theaters across major cities including Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya. The movie will also be screened in MX4D, 4DX, and Dolby Cinema formats.
This film adapts the Reze Arc of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga. Reina Ueda voices Reze, and the film’s staff includes director Tatsuya Yoshihara, screenwriter Hiroshi Seko, and returning composer kensuke ushio.
Kenshi Yonezu and Hikaru Utada perform the ending theme “JANE DOE,” while Maximum The Hormone’s “Hawatari Nioku Centi” appears as an insert song.
07. Let This Grieving Soul Retire! Season 2 Premieres October 6
The staff for Tsukikage and Chyko’s light novel series Let This Grieving Soul Retire! (Nageki no Bōrei wa Intai Shitai) revealed the main promotional video and announced that Season 2 will premiere on October 6 at 11:30 p.m. JST on Tokyo MX and BS NTV, with early streaming on d Anime Store and ABEMA on October 4.

Season 1 debuted in October 2024, following the reluctant treasure hunter Krai Andrey, who only wants to retire while his friends chase glory. Crunchyroll streamed the first season as it aired, and will also stream the second season.
06. Oshi no Ko Season 3 Premieres January 2026 with New Cast and Virtual Tour
At the “Oshi no Ko Kantō Nōryō Matsuri” event, it was revealed that Oshi no Ko Season 3 will premiere in January 2026, accompanied by a second teaser visual and a commemorative video introducing new cast members: Yuto Takenaka as Shun Yoshizumi and Yōji Ueda as Tetsu Urushibara.

The event also announced the franchise’s first virtual live event, “B Komachi Live Tour 2026 -Beyond the Brilliance VirtualLive-,” kicking off on April 25–26, 2026, with 12 performances planned across Aichi, Osaka, and Tokyo.
Additionally, the first official Oshi no Ko puzzle game will launch in 2026.
Season 2 of the anime premiered in July 2024, focusing on the Tokyo Blade stage play arc and streaming on HIDIVE. Season 1, which aired in April 2023, became HIDIVE’s #1 series launch in the streamer’s history. The manga by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari, which inspired live-action adaptations, ended in November 2024 with 16 volumes.
05. Li’l Miss Vampire Can’t Suck Right Premieres October 12

For fans of supernatural comedy, Li’l Miss Vampire Can’t Suck Right is set to debut October 12 on AT-X, with later broadcasts on Tokyo MX, Kansai TV, and BS Asahi, and streaming on U-NEXT, Anime Hōdai, and d Anime Store.
The story follows Luna Ishikawa (voiced by Minami Tanaka), a timid vampire transfer student who, ironically, is terrible at sucking blood! When classmate Tatsuta Ōtori (voiced by Kenshō Ono) discovers her secret, he becomes her “Mama,” helping her practice in the most hilarious ways.
The new promotional video teases the ending theme “Senkō Hanabi” (Sparkler Fireworks) by H△G and Luna herself, while the opening theme “Seishun no Silhouette” will also be performed by H△G. Based on Kyōsuke Nishiki’s manga, which ended this August, this anime promises a mix of heartwarming comedy and light-hearted supernatural antics.
04. Mamoru Hosoda’s Scarlet Adds Cast & Sets Early 2026 U.S. Release

Visionary director Mamoru Hosoda (MIRAI, BELLE) and Studio Chizu are back with a brand-new anime film, Scarlet (Hateshi naki Scarlet). The movie will hit theaters in Japan on November 21, followed by an early 2026 North American release, with an awards-qualifying run in North America later this year.
Scarlet tells the tale of a medieval princess on a dangerous quest to avenge her father’s death. Gravely injured and lost in an Otherworld between life and death, she encounters a modern-day young man who shows her a future beyond vengeance. With its mix of action, romance, and time-bending fantasy, Scarlet promises to be a bold new chapter in Hosoda’s career.
The film recently premiered at the Venice International Film Festival, followed by screenings at TIFF and the New York Film Festival. New cast members include Mamoru Miyano, Kenjirō Tsuda, Michio Hazama, and Toshio Furukawa—a powerhouse lineup sure to excite anime fans worldwide.
03. Wash It All Away Anime Premieres January 2026

Wash It All Away (Kirei ni Shite Moraemasu ka.?), based on Mitsuru Hattori’s slice-of-life manga, is coming to TV in January 2026 on Tokyo MX, ABC TV, BS Asahi, and AT-X. Directed by Kenta Ōnishi (The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter), the anime stars Sayumi Suzushiro as Wakana Kinme, a young woman who runs a cozy laundry shop in the seaside resort town of Atami.
Wakana’s gentle daily life is filled with visits to hot springs and interactions with the locals, but she has no memory of her past. Through her work, she preserves the memories embedded in her customers’ belongings, creating an emotional and heartwarming story of connection and quiet discovery.
The manga ran from 2017 to 2023, collecting 10 volumes, and is available in English from Square Enix Manga & Books. Hattori is known for the beloved zombie-romantic comedy Sankarea, and fans can expect the same warm yet thought-provoking storytelling in this beautifully animated adaptation.
02. Ranma 1/2 Season 2 Drops New PV & Visual

After a highly successful revival last year, the new Ranma 1/2 anime has unveiled its second promotional video and a new key visual for Season 2, premiering October 4 on NTV (effectively October 5 at 12:55 a.m.) and streaming later on Netflix.
The PV previews the cheerful opening theme “Wo Ai Ni” (I Love You) by Wednesday Campanella, while the ending theme “Panda Girl” will be performed by nishina. Longtime fans will be thrilled to see Toshihiko Seki reprise his role as Mousse, 32 years after the original anime! New additions to the cast include Kaori Nazuka as Ukyō Kuonji and Kazuhiko Inoue as Happōsai.
The first season, which aired in October 2024, was a faithful yet fresh adaptation of Rumiko Takahashi’s classic romantic comedy about cursed martial artists who transform when splashed with water. 01. Kaiju No. 8 Unveils “Cluster Disasters” Arc Trailer
Fans of Kaiju No. 8 have something huge to look forward to! The anime’s official site has dropped a brand-new trailer for the “Cluster Disasters” arc, which begins in Season 2 Episode 10 (Episode 22 overall) this Saturday. Season 2 premiered on July 19 on TV Tokyo and is streaming worldwide on X (formerly Twitter) and Crunchyroll with both English subtitles and an English dub.

This season has already treated viewers to a special side-story episode, “Hoshina’s Day Off,” which aired July 5 and was also streamed in real time on Twitter worldwide. New characters such as Gen Harumi (voiced by Kōki Uchiyama) and Rin Shinonome (voiced by Kana Hanazawa) have joined the cast, adding fresh excitement. The opening theme “You Can’t Run From Yourself” is performed by Aurora, while OneRepublic returns for the ending theme “Beautiful Colors.”
