12. MF Ghost Season 3

In a world where electric cars rule the roads, the thrill of combustion engines lives on through the MFG — a high-stakes motorsport watched by millions. Among its fierce competitors is 19-year-old Kanata Rivington, racing under the alias Kanata Katagiri. Armed with a hand-me-down Toyota 86 GT and skills honed in England, Kanata enters the MFG not just to win — but to find his estranged father.
Although the first season didn’t quite live up to its hype, much of its buzz came from featuring a character who was the protagonist of Initial D, one of the most iconic car-racing anime ever made. Still, it has a loyal fanbase, and now it’s officially getting a third season in Winter 2026.
11. Medalist Season 2

Tsukasa Akeuraji once dreamed of becoming a solo figure skater, but starting late left his ambitions unfulfilled. Now working as an assistant coach, he crosses paths with Inori Yuitsuka, a timid fifth grader secretly practicing at the rink. Despite her doubts and her mother’s restrictions, Inori’s raw passion reignites Tsukasa’s love for skating.
This anime is truly inspiring and perfect for anyone working hard to achieve their dreams. There aren’t many sports anime that focus on lesser-known sports. While Yuri on Ice was about becoming the best, Medalist is about helping someone else become the best — and that’s what makes it special. Everyone should give it a watch for motivation.

10. ‘Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess Season 2

The princess of the Royal Empire, commander of the Third Legion, has long led humanity’s fight against the Hellhorde. But after being captured, she finds herself imprisoned with only her talking sword, Ex, for company. Instead of cruel torture, her demonic captors use an unexpected strategy — overwhelming her with good food, friendship, and comfort to make her reveal her secrets.
This anime is underrated, but for me, its first season was one of the best comedy anime of its year. Now, we just have to see if the second season can live up to the first.
09. Trigun Stargaze

On the desert planet of Noman’s Land, reporters Meryl Stryfe and Roberto De Niro track down the legendary outlaw Vash the Stampede — only to find a kind-hearted drifter instead of a ruthless killer. Nicknamed “The Humanoid Typhoon” for the chaos that follows him, Vash is hunted for crimes committed by his twin brother, Millions Knives.
This will be the sequel to Trigun Stampede. The previous anime was fantastic and received the love it deserved. Fans now expect Trigun Stargaze to deliver the same level of quality, and so far, its animation, story, and visuals look absolutely stunning.

08. My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Season 2

In a world ruled by heroes with powerful Quirks, college student Kouichi Haimawari dreams of becoming one. But with only a modest sliding ability, his dream seems out of reach — until he meets two vigilantes: Knuckleduster and Pop☆Step. Together, they take on crimes the pros ignore and battle a dangerous new drug turning people into villains.
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes expands the universe of My Hero Academia, taking place earlier in the timeline. The first season was amazing, and I have high hopes for Season 2 — it’s definitely one of my most anticipated this winter.
07. Chained Soldier Season 2

As graduation approaches, Yuuki Wakura fears a dull, ordinary life until he’s suddenly pulled into Mato, a dangerous parallel world overrun by monsters known as Shuuki. There, he’s saved by Kyouka Uzen, commander of the all-female Demon Defense Force, whose powers come from mystical “Peaches” that only grant abilities to women.
Kyouka discovers that her power works far better on Yuuki than anyone else, and recruits him as her unexpected partner.
No anime list feels complete without an ecchi pick, and Chained Soldier fills that spot perfectly. Its story, animation, and action all hold up well, while balancing its fanservice elements smartly. It’s fun, intense, and surprisingly well-written.
06. Oshi no Ko Season 3

The dazzling yet deceptive world of entertainment continues to unfold in Oshi no Ko. Idol Ai Hoshino, the shining star of B Komachi, hides her struggles behind a perfect smile—until her unexpected pregnancy changes everything. Years later, her son Aquamarine “Aqua” Hoshino steps into the same industry, determined to uncover the truth behind his mother’s past.
From the glittering lights of stardom to the dark backstage secrets of showbiz, Oshi no Ko never fails to shock and move its viewers. It’s one of the best suspense anime right now, and Season 3 looks set to be even more thrilling.

05. Fire Force Season 3 Part 2

After enduring Benimaru Shinmon’s brutal training, Shinra Kusakabe and Arthur Boyle return to Company 8, only to face new chaos. With their captain arrested under the influence of the White-Clad cult, and Tokyo itself under control of Haumea, the Fire Force must rise against the system to save their leader and city.
With incredible animation, humor, and fast-paced storytelling, Fire Force Season 3 Part 2 promises to keep the fire burning this Winter 2026. It needs no introduction — fans already know how good it is.
04. Fate/strange Fake

Fate/strange Fake follows an imitation Holy Grail War created in the United States using incomplete data from the original ritual. Seventy years later, in the city of Snowfield, a chaotic new battle begins — one missing the Saber class and filled with unstable Servants that blur the lines between hero and myth.
The Fate franchise has never disappointed — from its animation and music to its complex storytelling. While strange Fake can be a bit confusing at times, it’s visually breathtaking and remains one of the most underrated entries in the Fate series.

03. Hell’s Paradise Season 2

Condemned ninja Gabimaru the Hollow is given one last chance at redemption — retrieve the Elixir of Life from the mysterious island of Shinsekyo. But this island is anything but paradise, filled with monsters and death-row convicts battling for survival.
With just 12 episodes, Hell’s Paradise made a massive impact on fans worldwide. Every episode felt purposeful, and the pacing and visuals were near-perfect. Season 2 is expected to raise the stakes even higher.
02. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3

In 2006, Tokyo Jujutsu High was home to prodigies Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto, whose ideals were shattered after one tragic mission. Twelve years later, curses born from humanity’s hatred have grown stronger, setting the stage for an all-out war in Shibuya.
Fans are eager to see Gojo vs. Sukuna — and from the looks of the trailer, this season’s animation is going to be jaw-dropping. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 might easily dominate Winter 2026.
01. Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2

After a decade-long quest to defeat the Demon King, Hero Himmel, Priest Heiter, Warrior Eisen, and Elven Mage Frieren part ways. But for Frieren, whose life spans over a thousand years, their decade together feels like a fleeting moment.
As time passes and she witnesses the deaths of her human companions, Frieren finally begins to understand the emotions she once overlooked. Filled with reflection, warmth, and a quiet melancholy, this story isn’t just about adventure — it’s about learning what it means to live.
This is our top pick for Anime of the Year based on story depth and emotional impact. Frieren beautifully blends humor, seriousness, and life lessons — and Season 2 could break even more records.
