Hey, anime fans! In this blog article, we are going to talk about the best upcoming Spring Anime 2024 that you should watch.
Anime has recently become more famous worldwide because of series like Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, Chainsaw Man, One Piece (with Gear 5), Dragon Ball Super, and Bleach. Because of this popularity, we’re seeing more manga and novels being adapted into anime, and even some older anime that have been waiting for new seasons for over 10 years are now getting them. Consequently, we’re seeing around 50 to 60 anime being released each season, and this Spring 2025 season also has some new and returning anime.
Here, we are going to talk about some anime that I decided to watch after seeing them on social media, and some others after reading their synopses
1 Kaijju 8
You’ve seen ads, reels, and shorts for this anime all over the internet, and some of my friends who also watch anime told me to check it out. After watching the first episode, I became very interested.
This anime is about a 32-year-old man named Kafka Hibino who works as a sweeper. In this anime, monsters called Kaiju have been appearing in Japan for many years. To protect themselves, the Japanese government created an elite military team known as the Defense Corps. They risk their lives to protect civilians and eliminate these monsters. After the Defense Corps defeats a Kaiju, a team of sweepers arrives to clean up the remains and the surrounding area.
One day, after the Defense Corps eliminated a monster, the sweepers arrived to clean up. Suddenly, another monster appeared in front of Kafka Hibino and his friend. Kafka tried to distract the monster so his friend could run to safety, but both of them ended up injured and were taken to the hospital. While they were talking, another Kaiju appeared and entered Kafka’s mouth. Following this, Kafka transformed into a Kaiju, but he remained completely in control of his actions.
When Kafka was a child, his dream was to become a top officer in the Defense Corps, but for some reason, he was rejected and ended up working as a sweeper. After gaining this Kaiju power, he now aims to give his dream another chance.
2 Spice And Wolf
After many years of waiting, Spice and Wolf is finally getting a new anime adaptation this Spring 2025 season. If you enjoy romance anime with adult characters and a fantasy setting, this anime is for you. However, I highly recommend watching its previous two seasons first, as you might be lost if you jump straight into this new season.
It has been many years since I watched the original anime, so I can’t give you specific details right now. However, if you check my older recommendations, you’ll find it listed as one of the best romance anime to watch. Its storyline is quite unique and very well-written, unlike many other romance anime.
If you don’t typically enjoy older anime, you might still want to consider this one. The first season was released in 2008, and the second in 2009. After 15 years, this new season is being produced, so the animation style will likely be different from the first two seasons.
3 Boukyaku Battery
Boukyaku Battery tells the story of the prodigious pitcher Kiyomine Haruka and the seemingly forgetful catcher Boukyaku. Their “battery” (baseball term for pitcher-catcher duo) once defeated every team in the senior league. However, after an accident, Boukyaku lost two years of his memories. Now, he doesn’t remember anything about baseball, his friends, or even his partner, Kiyomine Haruka.
Kiyomine Haruka and Boukyaku both enrolled in the no-name public high school, Kotesashi High. There, they encounter talented players who had quit baseball after playing against them in junior high.
Yamada Tarou is one of them, but Kiyomine Haruka asks him to join the baseball club, and he agrees simply because Kiyomine asked him. During practice, Kiyomine Haruka asks Yamada Tarou to catch his pitches, but Yamada is afraid he might get injured.
Upon seeing this, Boukyaku decides to catch for Kiyomine Haruka. When Yamada Tarou sees Boukyaku catching Kiyomine Haruka’s pitches, he realizes that only his memories are lost; the hard work Boukyaku put in before the accident is evident in his muscle memory. Boukyaku catches all of Kiyomine Haruka’s pitches without any problem.Following this, they aim to create a baseball club with these once-talented players who quit because of them, hoping to play with them again.
4 Wind Breaker
This anime follows a high school boy named Haruka Sakura, who has no interest in the weak. He is only drawn to the strongest of the strong. To that end, he enrolls in Furin High School.
In this high school, the students are known for their incredible fighting strength. However, surprisingly, they don’t use this strength to harass or bully others. Instead, they use it to protect their town from anyone who wishes it harm.
Haruka isn’t interested in these heroic endeavors or being part of such a team. He only wants to fight the strongest students in the high school and make his way to the top.f This Type Of Team He Only Wants To Fight The Strongest Of This High School And Wants To Make His Way To Top.
5 Yuru Camp
While most girls might prefer a fancy vacation with loved ones on their days off, Rin Shima is different. She loves spending her days off camping alone at the base of Mount Fuji, doing everything herself, from pitching her tent to gathering firewood. She has no plans of leaving her quiet, solitary world.
This Spring 2025 marks the release of the third season of Yuru Camp △. If you’re looking to relax after work, I highly recommend this anime, even to anime fans who haven’t watched it before.
6 KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World!
This Spring 2025 season brings us the third season of KonoSuba, which is widely considered one of the best comedy anime. They are back with their signature comedic humor. It’s been a long break since the second season, and while my research suggests they had enough content to continue sooner, they took a 7-year hiatus.
If you’re struggling with work or life in general, I recommend giving this anime a watch.
7 My Hero Academia
One of the best new-generation anime, My Hero Academia, returns with Deku as our main hero. However, after releasing the first episode of the seventh season, they are now releasing “Memories,” which seems to be a recap of the anime. Four of these recap episodes were released before this post.
This seventh season promises to be significant, with many pivotal incidents happening to Deku. Also, as we saw in the Season 6 finale, America’s top hero is on their way to save Japan.
8 Date A Live
If you enjoy romance and harem anime, then Date A Live is a great choice for you. This Spring 2025 season marks the fifth season of Date A Live, and it’s a fun anime.
If you’re looking for a goofy anime, you can definitely watch Date A Live. I don’t quite have the words to fully describe it, as it doesn’t necessarily have the most impactful story, but I personally enjoy it. This anime features comedy, brother-sister rivalry, and a harem, so if you like those elements, give it a try.
9 Hibike Euphonium
If you’re looking for an anime with beautiful animation, slice-of-life elements, and wonderful music, then Hibike! Euphonium is perfectly suited for you. There aren’t many anime that can offer all of these qualities together.
You can also learn about teamwork from this anime, as it revolves around orchestral music, which becomes truly memorable when all the members work in harmony. The anime also highlights the importance of every single instrument in a music band.
