Dragon Ball—an anime that needs no introduction. A timeless king of the genre, and one that nearly every anime fan has experienced at least once in their life.

08. Hori and Miyamura – Horimiya

Genre: Romance, Slice of Life
Don’t know why the comedy genre is not included in this anime because I think this is one of the best rom-com anime.
How They Met: Hori and Miyamura were classmates who barely spoke until a chance meeting outside school revealed their hidden sides.
How Things Grew: Getting to know each other beyond appearances, they quickly fell into an easy, supportive relationship.
Their Chemistry: Warm, open, and refreshingly drama-free — they love each other for who they really are.

07. Inuyasha and Kagome – Inuyasha

An amazing blend of romance and adventure—if you love adventure anime, this is a must-watch. The writer mastered the art of timing, weaving romance into the story perfectly, making it one of the best in the genre.
How They Met: Kagome is transported from modern-day Tokyo to Japan’s Sengoku period, where she meets the half-demon Inuyasha sealed to a tree.
How Things Grew: Initially at odds, they slowly learn to rely on each other in battles and personal struggles, developing deep trust and affection.

Seasons & Episodes: 2 seasons, one has 167 episodes, and the other has 26 episodes.
06. Miyuki and Kaguya – Kaguya-sama: Love Is War

Genre: Romantic Comedy, School Life
This anime perfectly shows the importance of fighting in love. When you love someone and argue with them—without violence, of course—it’s not really a fight. Instead, it strengthens the relationship and makes your love even stronger. Sometimes, a little playful clash can bring you closer… just ask these characters!
How They Met: As student council president and vice-president, Miyuki and Kaguya were drawn to each other’s intelligence and presence.
How Things Grew: Their pride kept them from confessing, leading to elaborate mind games to make the other admit feelings first.
Their Chemistry: Sharp, witty, and full of tension — their mix of intellectual rivalry and hidden tenderness is addictive to watch.
Seasons & Episodes: 3 seasons, each season has 13 episodes, + 1 movie.
05. Taiga and Ryuji – Toradora!

Genre: Romantic Comedy, Slice of Life
A hidden gem in the romance genre and one of my personal favorites. This anime shows that love isn’t about appearances—it’s about behavior, kindness, and the way someone treats you.
How They Met: Taiga and Ryuji become unlikely allies when they discover they each have crushes on the other’s best friend.

How They Met: Tohru meets Kyo when she starts living with the Sohma family, unaware of their supernatural curse.
How Things Grew: At first, Kyo is brash and distant, but Tohru’s kindness slowly breaks through his emotional walls. In return, Kyo learns to open his heart and trust her.

03. Edward and Winry – Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Genre: Shonen, Adventure, Drama
Sometimes, I actually like it when certain anime stay underrated. When a great anime suddenly becomes popular, people often watch it without knowing what it’s really about or whether it’s their type of show. If they don’t enjoy it right away, they just criticize it. This anime is one of those cases. Many people I know watched it without any idea of the story, got bored, and dropped it—but when they gave it a second chance, they realized it’s a masterpiece.
How They Met: Childhood friends from the same village, Edward and Winry’s bond began long before the events of the series.
How Things Grew: Winry’s skill as an automail mechanic kept Edward moving forward, while Edward’s quiet concern for her showed his deep (if often unspoken) love.

02. Naruto and Hinata – Naruto

Genre: Shonen, Action, Romance
An anime with perfect storytelling and one of the best villains in anime history. The only drawback is that it has more filler episodes than many anime have canon episodes. While the fillers are often enjoyable, they can break the momentum—just when you’re hooked on an intense storyline, suddenly two or three filler episodes appear and shift the focus.
How They Met: Childhood classmates in the Hidden Leaf Village, Hinata quietly admired Naruto’s resilience long before he noticed her.
How Things Grew: Over the years, Hinata’s support never wavered, even when Naruto was oblivious. Her bravery in protecting him during battles made Naruto realize her feelings — and his own.
Their Chemistry: It’s a heartwarming mix of gentle admiration and unshakable loyalty. By the time they marry, it feels like destiny fulfilled.
Seasons & Episodes: 2 seasons, one has 220 episodes and the second has 500 , and many movies
01. Kirito and Asuna – Sword Art Online

Genre: Action, Fantasy, Romance
one of the most immersive virtual worlds in anime history. The only downside is that while the main arcs are fantastic, some side arcs and pacing shifts can pull you away from the intense main story. Just when you’re deeply invested in Kirito’s journey, the narrative sometimes slows down or drifts into less impactful subplots. Still, its world-building, action scenes, and emotional moments make it a must-watch for any anime fan.
How They Met: Kirito and Asuna first crossed paths inside the dangerous virtual reality world of Sword Art Online, where survival depended on teamwork.
How Things Grew: Initially just fellow players, their bond deepened through countless battles and shared close calls. Asuna’s strength and compassion balanced Kirito’s determination and quick thinking, turning mutual respect into deep affection.
Their Chemistry: Their relationship is a blend of trust, support, and equal partnership. Whether fighting a boss or sharing a quiet in-game meal, they feel like two halves of a whole.
