01. Sad new for one piece fans
The official X (formerly Twitter) account for the One Piece franchise announced on Sunday that voice actor Kazuki Yao will step down from his role as Franky in the series and will be replaced. This decision came after a long discussion process.
The new voice actor for Franky will be revealed at the Jump Festa 2025 event on December 22. On the same day, Kazuki Yao will officially “graduate” from this role. Yao shared his thoughts about the situation on his Twitter account, saying, “A sad farewell has come, a separation with a character I’ve spent nearly a quarter of a century with.” He explained that a gap had grown between his “ideal” Franky and himself, leading him to decide to “step off the Thousand Sunny for now.”
Yao expressed his sadness and frustration and apologized to fans. However, he reassured them that a “super replacement” is being prepared. Over the years, Kazuki Yao has voiced three characters in One Piece: Franky, Jango, and Bon Clay.
02. New original Manga Set To Release Anime Soon
A new official website was launched on Tuesday, announcing that Taizan5’s Takopi’s Original Sin manga will receive an anime adaptation with the same name in winter 2024. The website also revealed a visual and a teaser video. More details about the anime will be shared at the Jump Festa 2025 event on December 25.
Viz Media has licensed the manga, and here’s the summary:
“Deceptively cute alien Takopi lands on Earth and meets a depressed earthling, Shizuka. Determined to make her smile, Takopi quickly learns that time travel can’t heal all wounds.”
The manga first debuted on Shonen Jump+ in December 2021 and ended in March 2022. The author, Shueisha, released the second and final compiled book volume in April 2022. The manga is also available in English on Shueisha’s Manga Plus platform.
03. One Of Best Anime From 2024 Gets New Season Next Year
TOHO Animation started streaming the English-subtitled main trailer for the second season of The Apothecary Diaries anime on Tuesday. The trailer revealed that Asami Seto has joined the cast as the maid Shisui.
For those unfamiliar with Asami Seto, she is known for voicing iconic characters like Nobara Kugisaki from Jujutsu Kaisen, Chihaya Ayase from Chihayafuru, Mai Sakurajima from Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, and many more.
The trailer also introduced and previewed the opening theme song, “Hyakkaryon” by Ikuta Lilas. This marks Ikuta’s debut song for a television anime.
The second season of The Apothecary Diaries will premiere on January 10, 2025, at 11:00 p.m. JST (2:00 p.m. UTC) on Nippon TV’s Friday Anime Night programming block. For online viewers, the anime will also be available on Crunchyroll.
04. Ending Song Reveal Of Upcoming Anime
The Tasokare Hotel mobile game debuted a new trailer on Tuesday, revealing details about its upcoming anime. The trailer announced the anime’s ending theme song, “Twilight” by Rib, and shared its release date: January 8, 2025. The Name of Anime is Tasokare Hote.
The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX in Japan on January 8. For viewers outside Japan, it will stream on platforms like Amazon Prime Video, its official anime YouTube channel, Tubi, Plex App, Anime Onegai, TVING, Bilibili, Anime Key, and more. The anime will be available in over 100 countries and regions.
Additionally, the project’s team announced on Tuesday that the game will also inspire a stage play and a webtoon. The stage play will run at the Hikosen Theater in Ueno, Tokyo, from April 24 to May 4, 2025. The webtoon will debut on Camipo and DLsite Comipo.
05. The second trailer for the Castlevania: Nocturne animated spinoff series’ second season has been revealed!
On Monday, Netflix streamed a trailer and shared more details about the second season of Castlevania: Nocturne. This season will feature eight episodes, each 25 minutes long, and is set to premiere on January 16, 2025. The first season of the series aired in 2023.
Here’s a summary of the anime:
“A vampire hunter fights to save a besieged city from an army of otherworldly beasts controlled by Dracula himself.”
This anime is inspired by the classic video game series.
06. Kagurabachi Won The #1 On U.S Bookscan For November
The first volume of Takeru Hokazono’s Kagurabachi manga has claimed the #1 spot on Circana BookScan’s Top 10 Adult Graphic Novels list for November!
After its first chapter was released just a few months ago, this manga quickly became a top seller, and now it’s ranked #1 on the monthly adult graphic novel list.

07. Hidive Is Going To Stream Flower And Asura Anime
HIDIVE has announced that it will stream the television anime adaptation of writer Ayano Takeda and artist Musshu’s Flower and Asura manga during the winter 2025 season. The anime will be available in North America, the U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
The series is set to premiere on January 7 on the NTV channel at 1:29 a.m. JST on January 8. It will also air on BS NTV, Chiba TV, TV Saitama, tvk, Sun TV, and KBS Kyoto. The opening theme song, “Jibun Kakumei”, will be performed by SHISHAMO, while the ending theme song, “RORO (Resonant)”, will be performed by SATO.
Anime Summary:
The story takes place in Tonakishima, a small island with a population of just 600. Hana, a high school girl living on the island, loves storytelling and often holds reading sessions for the local children. Mizuki, the president of the school’s broadcasting club, notices Hana’s ability to captivate people with her readings and invites her to join the club. This marks the beginning of Hana’s journey with the broadcasting club.

09. After four years, the anime will get a short series on December 25
After four years, the Diamond no Ace anime is set to return with a short spinoff series on December 25! The combined second and third 2025 issues of Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine announced on Wednesday that Yuji Terajima will launch a short manga side story series for his Ace of Diamond Act II manga, with the same title.
The Diamond no Ace anime first premiered in 2013, followed by its second season in April 2015. The Diamond no Ace Act II anime was released in 2019. Fans can watch the series on Crunchyroll.
This is one of the best sports anime to watch! It’s about baseball and follows Sawamura, a left-handed pitcher (known as a “southpaw”). His rival is Furuya, a right-handed power pitcher, while Miyuki, a genius catcher, and Haruichi Kominato, the team’s second baseman, add to the dynamic. Surrounded by a large number of skilled players, Sawamura struggles to find his place on the team, especially with Furuya’s dominance as the power pitcher and the presence of other talented pitchers.
10. More Details About Hypnosis Mic-divison Anime
The staff of the new anime Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- Movie, described as “Japan’s first interactive film,” streamed its trailer on Wednesday. The trailer reveals and previews the film’s opening theme song, “Hypnosis Mic -Division Battle Anthem-+” by Division All Stars, and shares additional details.
This unique anime will feature 48 story routes, 16 new songs, and seven possible endings. The film is set to premiere in Japan on February 21, 2025. The storyline, including the winner of the third Division Rap Battle, will vary at each screening based on real-time audience polling conducted via their smartphones.
The first season of the Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- Rhyme Anima anime premiered in October 2020, while the second season, Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- Rhyme Anima Plus, debuted in October 2023. Funimation streamed the first season, and Crunchyroll handled the streaming of the second season.
11. Dr. Stone: Science Future Anime’s Promo Video Is Out With Some Info
On Wednesday, the official website for the Dr. Stone anime released the main promotional video for Dr. Stone: Science Future, the fourth and final season of the series. The video revealed that the anime will premiere on January 9.
The opening theme song for the anime is “CASANOVA” by ALI, and the ending theme song is “Rolling Stone” by BREIMEN.
For online viewers, Crunchyroll will stream the anime in regions including North America, Central and South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and the CIS.
New cast members for the final season include Kenji Nojima as Dr. Xeno and Koji Yusa as Stanley Snyder.
12. New Upcoming anime’s Promo Is Out With It’s Cast Member
Kadokawa revealed on Thursday a promotional video, a key visual, five cast members, and the release date for the upcoming anime The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in Another World. The anime is set to premiere on January 12, 2025, on television.
The video also previews the opening theme song, “Cuz I” by Hikaru Makishima, and the ending theme song, “Explosive Heart” by Aya Uchida. This anime is an original adaptation of the manga by Koyoshi Nakayoshi, which shares the same title.

13. New Season Of Romance Anime Will Come On January 6
One of the best romance anime of 2023, My Happy Marriage, has announced its second season, and it will stream on Netflix! On Wednesday, Kadokawa confirmed that Netflix will stream the second season starting January 6, 2025.
The series will also debut on TV channels such as Tokyo MX, BS11, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, and TV Aichi in January. For online viewers, both the first and second seasons will be available on Netflix, making it easy to enjoy the entire series on one platform.
This anime is adapted from the light novel Shiawase no Katachi (The Shape of Happiness).
