On May 15, the film critics in the Hollywood Creative Alliance announced the nominees for the 2025 Astra TV Awards. There are three categories we have information about:

One Punch Man Season 3 – Viz Media acquires distribution rights for North America, Latin America, and Oceania

Viz Media, one of the leading entertainment media companies, has announced that they will be streaming One Punch Man Season 3.
They have acquired the rights for theatrical, television, digital, home entertainment, ancillary, and merchandise distribution across North America, Latin America, and Oceania. While the exact release date is not yet confirmed, the anime is expected to air in the Winter 2025 season, likely around October.
The first season was animated by Madhouse, and the second season was animated by J.C. Staff, who are also working on the third season.
The first season was released in 2014, and the second season came out in 2019. After five years, fans will finally get to see more of Saitama’s action!
This is definitely another anime season that fans are eagerly waiting for.
New Crayon Shin-chan Movie – Trailer reveals theme song by Saucy Dog
Shin-chan is back on the big screen! The beloved character returns with a brand-new movie titled Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: Super Magnificent! Scorching Kasukabe Dancers (Eiga Crayon Shin-chan: Chō Karei! Shakunetsu no Kasukabe Dancers), which is set to premiere in Japanese theaters on August 8.
The official trailer for the film was released this Thursday, and it came with some exciting news:
The popular three-member band Saucy Dog will be performing the theme song “Spice” for the movie! The movie’s staff has also revealed a vibrant key visual, which you can check out below:

This marks the 32nd 2D anime film in the Crayon Shin-chan franchise, and it’s an extra special one — the movie will take place in India, where Shin-chan is incredibly popular and loved by fans of all ages.
As a huge Shin-chan fan myself, I’m really excited about this release! Honestly, one of the best ways to relax is by watching a fun episode or movie of Shin-chan.

Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 – Premiere date and a special side story TV debut announced

As we mentioned in our recent article, Top Most Anticipated Anime of Summer 2025, Kaiju No. 8 is one of the biggest titles airing this summer. And this week, we got some exciting updates!
According to the official Kaiju No. 8 anime website, a special “Plus Side Story” episode is set to premiere on July 5, 2025 — just before the main action begins!
Not only that, the official air date for Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 has been confirmed — it will premiere on July 19, 2025, so mark your calendars and get ready for more Kaiju chaos!
The anime will air on TV Tokyo and its affiliated channels at 11:00 p.m. JST, and just like the first season, Season 2 will also stream live on X (formerly Twitter) worldwide as it airs in Japan. The Plus Side Story episode will also stream in real time on X, making it easy for global fans to join the hype.
